Aaron Donald, Jaire Alexander tabbed as first Pro Bowl selections (0:42)

The first two players to join the Pro Bowl are the Rams' Donald and the Packers' Alexander. There is a time and a place.

9:26 PM ET

The full roster for the Pro Bowl will be revealed on Wednesday. Eight players were selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys and the Chiefs had seven selections each.

Fans and coaches vote to determine the Pro Bowl. Fans voted for the Dolphins receiver, the Chiefs quarterback, the Vikings receiver, and the Chiefs tight end.

In September, the National Football League announced that it would no longer play a traditional football game at the Pro Bowl in favor of a series of events that will include multiple skill contests. Ray Lewis and Diana Flores will be the offensive and defensive coordinators of the Broncos. The U.S. woman's flag national team quarterback was named as an offensive assistant.

The Pro Bowl will take place in Las Vegas.

This is a team-by-team look at the players chosen. Here is an analysis of snubs.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen, QB, is one of the pro Bowlers.

For the Bills, this year marks the first time in their history that two players over the age of 30 have made the Pro Bowl. Poyer was named first-team All-Pro for the first time last season and is currently fifth in the league with four picks. He has started every game in his career for the offensive line. This is the third year in a row that Diggs has been named to the Pro Bowl, which is noteworthy since he has been in Buffalo.

Were you aware? The Bills didn't have a player in the fan vote who was leading in his position. Four Bills made the roster, which is two more than a year ago.

Miami Dolphins

The Pro Bowlers are: Terron Armstead, OT, Xavien Howard, CB.

After setting a career-high in receiving yards through just 14 games, Hill received the second-most votes of any player. Armstead solidified the Dolphins' worst offensive line from a year ago, and was the most important free agent signing. Howard's numbers are down a bit from a year ago, but he still has three turnovers.

Were you aware? Hill was the first player in Dolphins history to have 1,500 receiving yards. Calvin Johnson's single-season receiving record is close to being broken by the now seven-time Pro Bowler.

New England Patriots

Matthew Judon is a pro bowler.

The team had only one Pro Bowler this year. It's difficult to argue with the low total. This is the second year in a row that he has played in the Pro Bowl. He has at least 10 sacks in back-to-back seasons for the first time in his career, and this year he has a career-high 14.5 sacks. Matthew's spot was taken by the Jets' Justin Hardee.

Were you aware? The only player to record more sacks in a season was the one from the Pats. The Pro Football Hall of Famer recorded over 20 sacks in two different years.

New York Jets

Pro Bowlers include Sauce Gardner, CB, and C.J. Mosley, I LB.

The Jets don't have a lot of Pro Bowlers. The previous time was in the year 2018? They don't always have a single Pro Bowler. The Jets have been without a team for two years. Both of them were named as the starting players. Williams is a strong candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year, as well as a strong candidate for the Defensive Freshman of the Year. Matthew Slater had been a Pro Bowler for the Pats for many years.

Were you aware? The Jets have not had a rookies make the Pro Bowl in twenty years.

AFC NORTH

Baltimore Ravens

Pro Bowlers include: Justin Tucker, K, Patrick Ricard, FB, Mark Andrews,TE, Marlon Humphrey, CB, and returner.

Baltimore has had at least five Pro Bowl selections in each of the last four seasons. Smith is going to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his five years in the league. The Ravens have allowed the second-fewest points in six games with Smith. Andrews has been to more Pro Bowls than any other tight end in Ravens history. Ricard is the longest tenured member of the team and he was named to his fourth straight Pro Bowl. Humphrey is one of the most versatile defensive players in the game. One day after sustaining a foot injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season, Duvernay was selected to the Pro Bowl. Kevin Zeitler didn't make the Pro Bowl for the 11th year in a row despite leading fan voting.

Were you aware? Tucker is close to becoming the best kicker of all time. He was named to his sixth Pro Bowl, making him the second all-time among pure place-kickers. Tucker is part of an elite group with the Ravens. Tucker is the only player in franchise history who has been to more Pro Bowls than any other player.

Cincinnati Bengals

Pro Bowlers include: Joe Burrow, QB, Ja'Marr Chase, receiver, and de.

For the second year in a row, three players from the Cincinnati Reds earned Pro Bowl berths. The group has a headline this year. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. They went back to the all-star game last year. Their on-field merits were enough to get them votes to participate in this year's festivities.

Were you aware? Ben Baby is the first Cincinnati quarterback to make the Pro Bowl in two years.

Cleveland Browns

The Pro Bowlers are: Nick Chubb, OL, OG,RB, DE.

For the third year in a row, the ClevelandBrowns will be represented at the Pro Bowl. The ninth Brown to be named to five consecutive Pro Bowls is Bitonio, who hasn't missed an offensive snap since the 2016 season. Chubb is third in the league in rushing with 1,252 yards and is close to his first NFL rushing title. The most Pro Bowl votes were given to Garrett, who leads the league in pass rush wins.

Were you aware? Chubb is one of three Cleveland running backs who have made four straight Pro Bowls.

Pittsburgh Steelers

T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick are Pro Bowlers.

The legacy of Demaryius Thomas.

• CMC is focal point of 49ers' surge

• Lions continue playoff push with Jets win

• Simmons making most of Denver's season

• Browns' improving D too little, too late

Fitzpatrick has been a constant force in the defensive backfield. He had a pick 6 in the first week of the season and is currently second in the league with 94 picks. Watt was named to the Pro Bowl despite missing eight games due to injury. Watt has made 29 tackles and has four sacks.

Were you aware? The Pro Bowl has been sending multiple players to it for 22 years.

AFC SOUTH

Houston Texans

Laremy Tunsil is a pro bowler.

The Texans' player of the year has been Tun Lahren. He was named to the Pro Bowl from a one-win team. The opposing team's best pass-rusher was locked down each week by Tunole. The competition he battled was strong. Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones have combined for 16 sacks this season.

Were you aware? A player from the Texans will be going to the Pro Bowl. The streak of having at least one player named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last 17 years ended last season when the Texans didn't have any.

Indianapolis Colts

Nelson is a pro bowler.

The Colts had a high number of Pro Bowl selections. The depths of the team's struggles can be seen in the fact that they only have one selection in the year 2022. The Colts have lost seven of their past eight games and are in the middle of their worst season in the past decade. Nelson didn't play to his usual high standards as he was part of an offensive line that had its worst season in a long time. He was one of the best blockers in the game.

Were you aware? Each of Nelson's first five seasons, he made the Pro Bowl. He's the first offensive lineman in the league to do that. Reggie Wayne was the last Colts player to earn a spot in five straight Pro Bowls.

Jacksonville Jaguars

There are no pro Bowlers.

The two players with the best argument to be in the Pro Bowl are the Linebacker and the punter. The only player with more than 100 solo tackles is Oluokun. After leading the league in tackles with Atlanta, he signed a three-year, $45 million free agent contract with the Jags. He's fifth in net punt average and third in punt average.

Were you aware? LB Paul Posluszny and CB A.J. Bouye are two of the 10 players who have made the Pro Bowl over the last 10 years. The only offensive players in the Pro Bowl are Allen Robinson and DJ Chark, who are both wide receiver.

Tennessee Titans

The Pro Bowlers are: Jeffery Simmons.

Henry is their lone offensive starter in the Pro Bowl, because everything revolves around him on the offense. Henry missed nine games last season because of a Jones injury, but he still ran for 1,303 yards and 12 touchdown. Despite playing most of the season with an injured ankle, Simmons followed up his Pro Bowl with 7.5 sacks and is on pace to surpass his career high 8.5 sack total. The fourth-year defensive linemen has 12 quarterback hits and nine tackles for a loss.

Were you aware? Henry is tied with Chris Johnson for the third most Pro Bowl selections by a running back in the history of theTitans. Stonehouse is the firstTitans rookies to be named to the Pro Bowl in 14 years.

AFC WEST

Denver Broncos

Pat surtain II is a pro bowler.

Champ Bailey says that this could be the beginning of a long Pro Bowl run for him. One of the team's most important players is a versatile, smart, athletic corner who is as big as almost any receiver he faces. Even though some quarterbacks have chosen to avoid him, he has 55 tackles, 10 passes defenses and two intercepts.

Were you aware? Since 2001, only Chris Harris Jr. and Deltha O' Neal have been selected to the Pro Bowl by the Broncos.

Kansas City Chiefs

Chris Jones and Creed Humphrey are pro Bowlers. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Joe Thuney, G, Tommy Townsend, P, and the list goes on.

The Chiefs sent 10 players to the Pro Bowl in the past. They had seven selections in the two previous years. He is a strong candidate for the league's Most Valuable Player, as he is on pace for his second 5,000-yard season. Kelce was selected for the eighth time, tying him with two other Pro Football Hall of Famers for most in franchise history. Jones is tied for seventh with 11 sacks and is tied for first with players who line up mostly at an interior line position The average yards per punt is 51.8 and the net average is 46.5. First-time Pro Bowl selections in Humphrey and Thuney were chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Were you aware? The previous team record for offensive line selections was set in 2003 and 2004. They became members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs and Maxx Crosby are Pro Bowlers.

Every fan has access to the best coverage of the biggest games, original series, analysis and more. If you sign up, you'll be able to unlocks everything that is available on Disney+.

If Crosby is the heart of the Raiders defense, Adams and Jacobs are the other side of the ball. Crosby is first in tackles for loss (19), second in tackles (77) and third in sacks (11.5). Adams has 12 touchdown catches and is second in the league in receiving yards. He's had 86 catches for 1,250 yards. Jacobs is leading the league in rushing yards and scrimmage yards.

Were you aware? The Raiders have not had a quarterback win the award in back-to-back years since 2001 and 2002.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Pro Bowlers are: James Jr., Mack, and Edge.

James, who became the highest-paid safety in NFL history before the season, is one of the most versatile defensive players in the league. The fifth-year pro is not a safety according to the coach. "I think he's an impact player." James has played despite missing two games because of a quad injury. Mack started the season fast, with three sacks and a forced fumble against the Raiders, in order to prove he has plenty left in the tank. Mack's first in L.A., he has seven sacks, two pass deflections and two forced turnovers.

Were you aware? In November, James became the first defensive back in 30 years and the first player in a decade to have 30 tackles, multiples sacks and an pick six. The defensive player of the month was him. Mack has earned Pro Bowl recognition for all three teams he's played for, and this is his second time earning the honor while working with his position coach.

NFC EAST

Dallas Cowboys

Pro Bowlers: KaVontae Turpin and Tony Pollard.

Some mild upsets are possible with the selections of Lawrence, who has six sacks, and Pollard, who is close in on 1,000 yards. Voters look past statistics and focus on their play. Martin has more Pro Bowl appearances than holding penalties in his career, and his eighth selection is tied for sixth most in franchise history. He is a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. The price will go up with the Cowboys' first two picks in 2020. Turpin did not match his two returns for touchdown in the preseason, but he has been effective.

Were you aware? Pollard is a backup running back who has made just three starts, with the other two being due to injury and a minor discipline issue. He is not the first backup to make it to the Pro Bowl. In 2007, Barber had 10 touchdown and 975 rushing yards, despite not starting a game. Pollard is 31 yards shy of 1,000 on the season and his 12 touchdown are more than he had in the first three years of his career

New York Giants

Saquon Barkley is a running back and Dexter Lawrence is a defensive player.

Two players from the Giants made the Pro Bowl after not making it a year ago. It's progress. Left tackle Andrew Thomas and kicker Graham Gano weren't included. After three injury-filled seasons, this is the culmination of the perseverance of Barkley. He was a first time Pro Bowl selection. "It shows the respect of your peers, the respect of the fans, and that's what I'm thankful for," said the basketball player. Lawrence took his game to a new level this season. He has set a career high with 6.5 sacks and is tied for fifth in the league with 24 quarterback hits.

Were you aware? The Giants have not had a defensive linemen in the Pro Bowl since Pierre-Paul. Eric Howard earned the nod since 1990.

Philadelphia Eagles

Hurts, Sanders, Dickerson, and Reddick are Pro Bowlers LB, Kelce, C, Slay, CB, Lane Johnson, and A.J. Brown are listed.

Four of the Eagles' eight Pro Bowlers, led by Hurts, got the nod for the first time. His running mate in the backfield, Sanders, has already set career highs in rushing yards and rushing touchdown. Three-fifths of the offensive line was selected to the Pro Bowl, and that's no surprise since Hurts and Sanders have had big years.

Were you aware? One shy of the all-time single season record, Hurts has scored 35 total touchdown, including 13 rushing. Hurts has generated more touchdown than any other signal- caller. Brown had a career high in receiving yards in the season.

Washington Commanders

Pro Bowlers include Jonathan Allen, DT, P, Jeremy Reaves,ST, and Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin finally earned the recognition he deserved. Even though he has never played with a top quarterback, McLaurin was able to top 1,000 yards receiving for the third year in a row. Allen leads the team with 19 tackles for a loss, one more than his teammate Daron Payne. Allen has sacks in excess of 6. Way is first in punts inside the 20-yard line and tied for third on punts inside the 10. Reaves made the team out of training camp for the first time in his career.

Were you aware? Since Santana Moss was named to the Pro Bowl in 2005, only one Washington receiver has been named to the game. The last time Washington didn't have an offensive lineman in the Pro Bowl was in 2011. The last non-punter to make the Pro Bowl was Lorenzo Alexander. It's the first time since 1989 that a defensive lineman from Washington has made it in back-to-back years.

NFC NORTH

Chicago Bears

There are no pro Bowlers.

For the first time in five years, the Bears didn't have a player in the Pro Bowl. They are the only team in the North that doesn't have a Pro Bowl player. Eddie Jackson was the leader in fan voting prior to his injury.

Were you aware? The former Bears player was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time. In eight games, Smith has 2.5 sacks, the second-most by a Bears defender. Mack, who was traded in March, was named to the Pro Bowl eight times.

Detroit Lions

Frank Ragnow is a pro bowler.

Ragnow was named to the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row. The leader of the Lions' offensive line, Ragnow was limited to four games in the previous season due to toe surgery. He was named to the Pro Bowl and All- Pro in 2020.

Were you aware? The Lions have won six of their past seven games for the first time since 2016 with Ragnow anchoring the offensive line. Ragnow has not allowed a sack in the last year.

Green Bay Packers

Jaire Alexander is a pro bowler.

After missing all but four games last season because of a shoulder injury, Alexander has begun to round back into his 2020 form, when he was a second-team All-Pro. Despite missing a game and a half this season, he is tied for fifth in the NFL with a career-high four picks and is tied for eighth in the league with 12 pass break ups. When the Packers' pass defense struggled, Barry matched Alexander at times, even though he was hesitant to match up against one receiver for an entire game.

Were you aware? The Packers haven't had many Pro Bowl selections in the last three years. Eddie Lacy was the pick.

Minnesota Vikings

KirkCousins, LB Za'Darius Smith, T.J. Hockenson, and LS Andrew DePaola were selected to the Pro Bowlers.

Those who haven't watched much of the Vikings' season might be surprised. He has had the lowest Total QBR in his career after the 15th week of the season. He led seven fourth-quarter comebacks, the most recent of which was the Vikings' historic victory over the Colts. Everyone on the team has something to do with the 11-3 record. Jefferson is leading the league in receiving yards and catches. Smith leads the NFL with 49 quarterback hurries and is second in the league in catches by a tight end.

Were you aware? Randy Moss is the only receiver in franchise history to go to the Pro Bowl three times. He has a lot of goals on his mind. He thinks he should be on the first team. He wants to be a top player in the league. I would have liked to have had it last year. It was my first year. My first year of college. I felt like I should have gotten it. At the end of the day it's what it is. I can't have control over anything. It definitely motivates me more when I don't get the first team.

NFC SOUTH

Atlanta Falcons

Chris Lindstrom is a pro bowler.

One of the most under appreciated guards in the game finally received his first Pro Bowl nod this year, even though he should have been named to his first Pro Bowl last season. One of the reasons why Atlanta has the third best rushing attack in the league is due to the consistency of Lindstrom. Lindstrom said it would mean a lot. It would be an honor to do team accomplishments first. Every player in the league is trying to get that.

Were you aware? The last Falcons offensive lineman to make the Pro Bowl was Jake Matthews and Alex Mack. It is the second year in a row that an offensive player from the Falcons made the Pro Bowl.

Carolina Panthers

Brian Burns is a pro bowler.

At the trade deadline, the panthers turned down two future first-round picks to keep him. He leads the team in tackles and sacks. He is a defensive end. His best years may be ahead of him as he continues to develop as a pass-rusher. He made the Pro Bowl as an alternate, but was voted in as a starter. Whoever the next coach is, he's going to be a leader.

Were you aware? Burns is known for his Spiderman pose after sacks, but he is also a dog lover. The Route #53 Dawg Rescue Foundation is an organization that rescues battered, neglected dogs and pairs them with homes.

New Orleans Saints

Demario Davis is a pro bowler.

The 33-year-old has had a career resurgence since he joined the New Orleans Saints. The Pro Bowl has always been a problem for Davis, even though he was a first- and second-team All- Pro in 2019. He has 89 total tackles this season and is tied for 43rd in the league. He is one of the team's nominees.

Were you aware? This is the lowest number of players the Saints have had voted to the Pro Bowl in the last two years. Since that season, defensive end Cameron Jordan has not been voted to the roster. The good news is that Davis unlocked a $500,000 contract incentive after being voted to the Pro Bowl. Is it the good? When three of their defensive ends are former first-round picks, it's not ideal.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There are Pro Bowlers.

The 13th overall pick in the 2020 draft, Wirfs has an exceptional mix of size and physical skills, propelling him to immediate full-time starting status his freshman year and a key role in the Super Bowl LV run. A high ankle injury has kept him out of the last three games. He has surrendered just one sack all season, tying for the best mark in the league. In 44 regular-season games, his 895 pass-blocking wins is ranked sixth among offensive tackles. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the second year in a row.

Were you aware? Tony Mayberry and Davin Joseph are the only other offensive linemen in the history of the team to receive multiple Pro Bowl selections. In his first three seasons, he was selected multiple times.

NFC WEST

Arizona Cardinals

Budda Baker is a pro bowler.

One of the bright spots for the team was Baker. He grew as a leader on a defense that needed both desperately. He leads the team in tackles and has two picks, six passes defensed and two quarterback hits. He has been to the Pro Bowl four times.

Were you aware? Each of the last four years, Baker has been named to the Pro Bowl.

Los Angeles Rams

The pro bowler is a defensive player.

Donald has missed the last three games for the Rams because of an ankle injury, but his Pro Bowl streak is still intact. Donald has five sacks, 10 tackles for a loss and 11 quarterback hits this season. Donald's nine Pro Bowl selections are the third-most in Rams history.

Were you aware? Donald's nine Pro Bowl nominations ties him with Randy White and Alan Page for the eighth-most among defensive tackles in NFL history.

San Francisco 49ers

The Pro Bowlers were Trent Williams, OT, Kyle Juszczyk, FB, George Kittle,TE, Nick Bosa, DE, and Fred Warner.

Williams and Juszczak are mainstays at their positions. Kittle hasn't put up the big numbers he usually does in the passing game, but he's still the best blocking and receiving tight end in the league. Bosa is one of the top candidates for Defensive Player of the Year. They should be on this list for a long time. The season has been spurred by splash plays, with Hufanga enjoying a breakthrough year. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw doesn't have a Pro Bowl-caliber season.

Were you aware? Kittle and Jones are the only two tight ends in franchise history to be selected to the Pro Bowl four times.

Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith, QB, is one of the pro Bowlers.

Smith had spent most of the previous seven seasons as a back-up, so he wasn't expected to be the starting quarterback in the next season. The most remarkable story of the season is the fact that he made the Pro Bowl. Smith and Hurts have been the best quarterbacks in the league. It was obvious that Woolen was the choice. The rookies are tied for the lead in the league with six picks. Another one of the no-brainers wasMyers. He's made 26 of 27 field goal attempts. Despite not playing as well as he has in the past, Diggs makes the Pro Bowl for the third year in a row.

Were you aware? Smith needs a Pro Bowl on his resume in order to get a contract. He will get $500,000 if he makes the Pro Bowl as a starter or backup and if he throws at least 20 touchdown passes. Woolen is the first member of the Seattle defense to make the Pro Bowl since 2005.
