Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a medal to President Joe Biden at the request of a soldier.
The Ukrainian president arrived at the White House. Zelenskyy said a Ukrainian soldier asked him to pass along the award during the meeting.
Zelenskyy said the soldier is in charge of the unit that uses the US long-range weapons system.
Zelensky said that the award was a "Cross for Military Merit" and that he gave it to the president.
Biden said it was deserved but appreciated. He wanted to contact the soldier and give him a coin.

Zelenskyy traveled to the US for the first time since Russia invaded his country. In addition to meeting with Biden, the Ukrainian president was expected to meet with a number of senior US officials on the trip.
Zelenskyy came with a list of wishes for additional military aid when he visited the White House on Wednesday.
The first transfer of the main air defense system of the US military will be included in the additional military aid announced by Biden.
