Oregon's rise in the class rankings is discussed by Tom VanHaaren. There is a time and a place for it.

On the first day of the early signing period, Oregon made waves when five-star safety Peyton Bowen flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to theDucks, but that wasn't the only big splash Oregon had on Wednesday, as coach Dan Lanning and his staff moved from outside the top

Dante Moore, a five-star quarterback, decided to switch his commitment from Oregon to UCLA.

The staff of the University of Oregon quickly adjusted and flipped a quarterback. Matayo Uiagalelei, the younger brother of DJ Uiagalelei, was in a battle with USC and Ohio State for his services. That fight was also won by Oregon.

A four-star running back from Washington was flipped by the Oregon. The state of Oregon now has 12 commitments.

In the last cycle, Alabama finished behind Texas A&M, but coach Nick Saban made sure his program came out on top in the next cycle. The five-star offensive tackle was flipped by him before the early signing period started.

Jaquavious Russaw and James Smith committed to Alabama. Both Russaw and Smith are ranked in the top ten. The most prestigious program in the country has four five-star commitments in this class.

The recruits were able to land and hold onto them. The other programs tried to get Tony Mitchell and Caleb Downs to leave Alabama, but they both chose to stay.

While it was a good day for the Dawgs, they weren't able to catch up to the Tide in the rankings.

Kirby Smart made it interesting by getting a commitment from two players on Wednesday.

Miami tried to move up in the rankings by adding a player who chose the Hurricanes over the Tide.

Karmello English and Jyaire Hill are Michigan's newest top 300 commitments. The Michigan has been active in the transfer portal and has gotten commitments from a number of players.

Ohio State was able to get a commitment from Joshua Mickens, a position of need for the team.

Some of the newer coaches at various programs were trying to navigate the early signing period with only a few weeks of prep, despite the fact that the Michigan and Ohio State have established coaches who were entrenched in this recruiting class.

Hugh Freeze was able to flip Kayin Lee from Ohio State and Keldric Faulk from Florida State and move them up in the rankings.

The Colorado coach shocked the college football world in his first signing day as Jackson State's coach when he flipped a five-star defensive back from Florida State.

His son, Shedeur, the Jackson State quarterback who on Wednesday officially committed to play for his dad at Colorado, was added to the mix.

Before the early signing period began, he was able to flip a running back from Notre Dame to the ESPYS, and he also added a receiver from the ESPYS.
