There is a similarity between the approach taken byNetflix and the one taken by Peloton. You will be able to watch classes from Nike Training Club on December 30th. Thirty hours of content in multiple languages and exercises will be available to subscribers of the streaming service.
Nike Training Club is a popular fitness app where users can take strength, yoga, and high-intensity interval training led by Nike trainers. It is designed to improve your strength, endurance, and mobility. Many classes don't need equipment. It is very similar to Apple Fitness Plus and even without Nike- branded hardware.
The episodes will be available in two batches. The first will arrive next week and the second sometime in the year 2023. Kickstart Fitness with the basics, Two Weeks to a Stronger Core, Fall in Love with Vinyasa Yoga, HIT & Strength with Tara, and Feel-Good Fitness are all part of the first batches.
It is a smart idea from the company. Who hasn't been to a gym where at least one person wasn't watching a show on an iPad? Several fitness machines, like treadmills and bikes, feature theNetflix app. This will make people stay within the app for all of their fitness needs.
A gym-goer could use the app to stream a Nike Training Club for a floor workout and then switch to their favorite show while pedaling away on a bike. It can use Nikes instead of shelling out more money for original fitness content. A similar strategy is being used by the streaming service. The company is licensing games from before it started its own studio.
We will have to see if this idea has staying power, which is probably why this is so strategically timed to take advantage of new year's resolutions. Most of those resolutions don't last long by February. If it is leaning into its villain era as it lays down the hammer on password sharers, it could try to get people to watch a Nike Training Club class.
