Hal Steinbrenner said that the Yankees are not done yet.
The Yankees signed Carlos Rodn to a six-year, $162 million deal. Steinbrenner said the team would address other areas this year.
Brendan Kuty @BrendanKutyNJHal Steinbrenner: "All I can tell you is that we're not done yet." Wouldn't get into specifics of how much more he's willing to spend. Mentioned potentially upgrading the bullpen, the lineup. #Yankees
According to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, the Yankees might be feeling some added pressure to keep spending with the Mets after they agreed to a 12-year, $315 million contract with Carlos Correa.
The Mets have spent more than 800 million dollars on new equipment.
Jeff Passan @JeffPassanSince free agency began, the Mets signed:
- Carlos Correa, $315M
- Brandon Nimmo, $162M
- Edwin Díaz, $102M
- Justin Verlander, $86.6M
- Kodai Senga, $75M
- Jose Quintana, $26M
- Omar Narvaez, $15M
- Adam Ottavino, $14.5M
- David Robertson, $10M
Total outlay: $806.1 million.
You have to wonder if the Yankees want to get outmuscled by the Mets.

The top free agents in the class have found homes. The best players available are Elvis Andrus, Johnny Cueto, Jurickson Profar, and Johnny Greinke.
Between now and opening day, the Yankees might make a big trade. The New York Mets would be a great fit for Bryan Reynolds if he were to leave the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Steinbrenner and Cashman played their biggest cards when it came to free agency. Cashman might want to fine- tune the roster around the margins.
