I've been watching Chainsaw Man on Crunchyroll for the last 11 weeks. This is the first time I will talk about it, since it is so crazy and weird.
This show does something every week that leaves me speechless. The show is about a man who can only be described as too horny to die and who also happens to possess a devil heart that makes chainsaws erupt from has arms. I think you could have expected more from a show calledChainsaw Man.
Denji becomes fused with his pet Chainsaw Devil after it dies in the movie Chainsaw Man. He joined a special government division meant to hunt down Devil, sometimes using humans like Aki, a subdued hunter trying to seek revenge on a specific Devil, or Power, a part- demon fiend who enjoys killing things with blood-based abilities.
Denji's motives are...simplistic. He joined the Devil Hunters because they will provide him with food and a place to stay, which he didn't have before. Soon, his motivation is related to sex. He would like to touch a breast first. He would like to sleep with Makima. It's gross, but it makes him a weirdly unique character in that I've never seen a main character who didn't care that he was a main character. Makima and Kobeni are odd mysteries that the show will expand on in time.
More for you.
That's right.
The Forbes Snowman has been found.
I thought Demon Slayer was doing interesting things, but the Devil in Chainsaw Man are completely different. The Angel Devil is the only power that can shorten human lifespan if you touch them. Each time they are summoned to fight, Snake and Ghost demand bodily sacrifice. There is an eye and a nail. The whole of a person.
The Big Bad of this season is the Gun Devil, a massive Devil responsible for a huge-scale terrorist attack in America, and its followers are armed with guns. Both Aki and Denji are motivated by the gun devil. Makima promised Aki that she would kill it if he did.
I was told by Chainsaw Man fans that things will get weirder from here. I watched a woman read her name off a piece of paper, and I'm pretty sure things are going to get weirder. I am definitely going to stay for that.
I have never seen anything like Chainsaw Man before. I don't know if I can recommend it to everyone, but I've never seen a show that made me so happy. It's a one-of-a-kind experience.
