It can be hard to keep up with the latest rumors and leaks for each product, from the MacBook Pro to the Mac Pro, Mac mini, iMac, Mac Studio, and MacBook Air.

When new models are expected, new features, and more are included in the latest rumors about each Mac product below. Check out our guides for more information.

MacBook Pro

The newest MacBook Pros were announced over a year ago. The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips were used in the redesign of the MacBook Pros. Apple was expected to announce new models in the fall, but did not.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chip options are expected to be available in the early half of the next decade. Apple held an event last year to announce the M1 iMac, a new Apple TV, and iPad Pros. The new MacBook Pros and other new products could be announced at an event in the spring of 2020.

The design of the new MacBook Pros won't be changed. The M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will offer better performance and battery efficiency than the current M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

iMac

The M1 chip was used in the iMac. Apple was able to completely redesign the iMac due to the efficiency of the M1 chip. The iMac comes in a variety of colors and has a 24 inch display.

The only iMac in Apple's lineup is the 24 inch model. We don't expect any big changes for the next iMac. A follow-up to the existing iMac is in the works but is unlikely to ship until later in 2023 with the M3 chip, according to Gurman.

The M3 chip will benefit from the updated iMac. There are reports that Apple is working on a higher-end version of the iMac called the iMac Pro. Gurman says that Apple is still interested in the iMac option, but that the product has faced delays.

Mac mini

The Mac mini is Apple's smallest and most portable Mac and it's a popular option for customers who like it portable and versatile. One of the first Macs to get the M1 chip was the Mac mini, and since then, Apple hasn't provided a newer model. Rumors said Apple was working on a redesign of the Mac mini.

Apple is testing Mac mini models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. The new models are unlikely to feature a redesign, and will keep the same design. Every new Mac mini since 2010 has had the same design. A Mac mini with the M1 chip is available from Apple.

MacBook Air

The newest Mac from Apple is the M2 MacBook Air. The wedge-shaped look of previous MacBook Airs has been replaced by a thin, light form factor. The MacBook Air comes in four different colors and has a 13-inch display.

We aren't expecting a replacement for the MacBook Air anytime soon. There will be a new member of the MacBook Air family in 2023. Ross Young, a reliable display analyst, said that Apple will announce a MacBook Air with a 15.5-inch display in the spring of 2015.

The new MacBook Air is expected to feature the same overall design as the existing 13-inch model, with flat edges, a large Force Touch trackpad, a keyboard with function keys, and more. The upcoming MacBook Air will be the largest MacBook Air to date, sitting between the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Mac Pro

Apple's most powerful Mac is the Mac Pro. The current Mac Pro is three years old and needs to be upgraded. Only the Mac Pro is powered by Intel chips, which is the only Mac in Apple's lineup that hasn't transitioned to Apple Silicon.

The development of the Apple Mac Pro has faced some challenges, but Apple has been testing it for a while. Gurman claims that Apple's original plan to offer the Mac Pro with M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chips may not happen. The most powerful Apple chip, the M2 Extreme, was supposed to be included in the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro will only have the M2 Ultra chip and have different configurations and the ability to expand.

The exact time frame on when to expect the upcoming Mac Pro is not yet known, but it can probably be expected in the year 2023.

Mac Studio

Until the Apple Mac Pro arrives, the highest-end Mac desktop will be the Mac Studio. Similar to the Mac mini, the Mac studio has a larger form factor with more ports and performance. M1 Max and M1 Ultra chip options are available in the current Mac studio. We haven't heard much about an update to the Mac studio, but we could see an update with the M2 Ultra chips.

According to recent Geekbench scores and database spottings, Apple is testing the M2 Max chip with an upcoming Mac studio. We will see a Mac Studio refresh this spring if Apple sticks to an annual update schedule.
