Being an intern at a company isn't usually a fun role.

It's hard to imagine an entry-level hell like internship at Musk's Twitter, which has spiraled into greater disarray as a result of Musk's cursed " Should I step down as head ofTwitter?" poll. George Hotz quit last night before his internship was due to end, after taking an increasingly combative tone against his employer.

He resigned from the social networking site. I didn't think I could make much of a difference there.

To be clear, Hotz isn't your average intern, and his role at the social networking site was more than a little unconventional.

A well-known self-driving car developer, hacker, and coder, he is also the CEO of Comma. Hotz was turned down by Musk when he asked him to work at the company. Hotz said that Musk kept changing the terms of their agreement.

Hotz was inspired by Musk's email to employees and offered his reverse-engineering skills to the platform.

Hotz said he would put his money where his mouth was. For cost of living in SF, I'm down for a 12 week internship at the micro-messaging service.

"Alright, let's talk," the new-minted CEO said.

Since then, Hotz has appeared on the team. After weeks of layoffs, disastrous and half-baked platform changes, and Musk's ever-growing flirtation with far right conspiracy theories, Hotz's tweet have taken on an increasingly adversarial tone towards his boss.

Musk's decision to ban links to competitors on the social networking site was his most fiery take.

"Agreed that's this is an absolutely ridiculous policy," he wrote after Musk suspended Paul Graham under the policy, which he lampooned as the "fastest speed run of "free speech" ever."

He said that his bio link has been a link to his account on the photo sharing site. I feel free to be banned.

His funniest jab at Musk was probably when he posted a poll of his own asking if he should step down as an intern at the micro-messaging service.

If Musk steps down, would Holtz be interested in becoming the CEO of the company?

He wrote that he wouldn't ever take that job.

Musk seems to be trying to get out of the vote to resign.
