According to sources, Daniels has decided to transfer toRice.

Daniels is moving to his fourth college home. He has started at USC, Georgia and West Virginia and gone 17-12 as a starter.

According to sources, the appeal of competing in a pro-style system at Rice made Daniels want to go.

Daniels and Bloomgren started recruiting the quarterback when he was a freshman. Back then, he was the offensive assistant to the head of the football team. He tried to get Daniels to Rice before. Daniels was recruited by Tuiasosopo when he was an assistant coach.

Daniels threw for 2,107 yards and 13 touchdown in 10 games for West Virginia. During Georgia's national title campaign in 2021, Daniels started all three of the team's victories, including the season- opening win over theTigers.

Daniels, who will turn 23 in February, has generally been a productive player in college. In his first season at USC, he threw for 2,662 yards, but injuries derailed his next three seasons.

Daniels will be the highest-rated recruit to play there since 2006 and it will be a good thing for Rice. Daniels was one of the top recruits of the year.

Over the last two years, Rice has started five different quarterbacks. None of them had a QBR greater than 47. They had a completion rate of over fifty percent. Daniels has completed more passes than any other player in his career.

The starting quarterback and center are projected to be returned by Rice. The program's top offensive target is the star wide receiver, which is why he's included. His brother is a running back for the 49ers.

With Rice jumping from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference next year, Daniels will inherit a class that is considered the best in school history. Daniels has played in four different conferences, including the Big 12.

Rice is coming off a bowl game for the first time in three years and just its 13th in more than a century.

Rice will be opening in Texas. If Daniels were to win the starting job at Rice, he would have started at Texas for the third time. He played for USC and West Virginia in the same year.
