It is a time-honored tradition for the rookies to have a dinner with a big bill. Veterans and rookies pick up the bill when they order high-priced menu items.
The "welcome to the league" move has been used for a long time.
Veteran defensive linemen for the 49ers took things to a whole new level recently. The waiter brought back a check that had an 8-ounce cut of Kobe beef for $480, bone marrow for $29, multiple orders of salmon, and sautee mushrooms. A banquet deposit and a $200,000 tip were added to the total. They thought they had to pay $322,391.05.
They were surprised by the amount.
Arik Armstead, a seven-year veteran of the 49ers, had to assure the world that the video was a joke.
Y'all silly if you thought a dinner can cost 300k . It was a prank. The waitress went overboard . The dinner was 7500 me and 2 other vets gave 1k towards it . The rooks split 4500. We had a great time too. I had good vets as a young player I would never do a rookie like that .

Kyle said that it was good by Arik. Arik was a little more mature than a lot of guys are, and that's thanks to the fact that guys can get crazy on that. I have never seen it like that.
