After being released by the Green Bay Packers, Sammy Watkins found a new home.
Watkins was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Ravens, according to a report by Tom Pelissero.
Watkins was in Green Bay for less than a year. In nine games this season, he had 13 catches for 206 yards, but he didn't play as much.
After the Ravens reportedly suffered another blow to their already-depleted receiving corps, they decided to add Watkins. The wideout left Tuesday's practice because of a foot injury and there is concern that it could be significant. Baltimore is without a player due to an injury.
In 13 games with the Ravens, Watkins caught 27 passes for 409 yards and a touchdown. His familiarity with Baltimore star quarterback Lamar Jackson should help the team.
Watkins, the 4th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills, has not lived up to expectations. He only recorded over 1,000 yards once in 2015, after spending time with the Rams and Chiefs. He hasn't reached 700 receiving yards in a season since that year.
As they attempt to hold onto their spot in the playoffs, the Ravens will have to hope that Watkins can produce. The Baltimore Ravens will host the Atlanta Falcons on Christmas Eve.
