Apple has expanded its self-service repair program to include Mac desktop computers. The parts, tools, and repair manual for the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio with the M1 series of chips are now available.

The availability of parts for Mac desktops and the Studio Display is limited to the US for now, despite the program expanding to Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK earlier this month. There is a repair manual on Apple's website for Macintosh computers with Apple Silicon.

If you rent a tool kit from Apple's self-service repair store, you have to return it within seven days.

The program was launched in the U.S. in April and provides customers with access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and manuals. In August, the program was expanded to include MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.

The program is for people who have experience with repairing electronic devices. The safest and most reliable way to get a repair is to visit a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts.
