"Inventing Anna" is a series on the streaming service. The show dramatizes the real-life exploits of Anna Sorokin, a convicted fraudster who posed as a German heiress named Anna Delvey, and went on to scam banks, hotels, restaurants, and others out of more than $200,000.

The show is based on a New York Magazine profile of Sorokin, who was a billionaire investor and the CEO of the company that bears his name. In both the article and the show, Sorokin flies on a private jet without paying to attend the shareholder meeting. She stops by a gathering hosted by Buffett at the zoo.

The saga was told in New York magazine and in the movie.

New York magazine's version:

A friend of Sorokin's signed her up to attend the annual meeting of the company. She was going to bring along a friend who worked with Shkreli.

According to the magazine, Sorokin said he was going to see Warren Buffet.

The CEO of Blade was at a party with Sorokin. She contacted him about booking a private jet, and he released a plane to take her from New Jersey to Omaha, Nebraska, after he received a forged confirmation of a wire transfer, according to New York magazine. Sorokin didn't pay the cost of the trip because he didn't want to.

Davis was told by the "Soho Grifter" that the highlight of her trip was visiting the city's zoo. Bill Gates and other high-profile guests mingled with Sorokin's group at the event.

The "Inventing Anna" version:

In the fourth episode, Sorokin is invited by a friend to attend a meeting. She wants to book a private jet for the trip.

The executive later told a journalist that she was going to the house of Warren Buffet. She had to be a good person.

On the plane, Sorokin's friends tell her that Gates doesn't visit Omaha for the meeting and that they travel to attend a party hosted by Warren Buffet. Sorokin was turned away from the conference by the security guards because she didn't have the right ticket.

Kent marveled at Sorokin's audacity in the earlier part of the episode.

She says that the rich people money festival is like a bankers paradise. It's Warren Buffet's annual festival. She is going to hang out with the richest men in the world.

Where is Sorokin now?

In April of last year, Sorokin was found guilty of several charges. She was sentenced to between four and twelve years in prison for her crimes.

She paid $223,000 in fines and restitution after being released early last year. About two-thirds of the money was given to Blade.

Sorokin was held for overstaying her visa after she was released. She is under house arrest and waiting to hear if she will be deported.
