Within a day of Messi putting up the photos, the post surpassed the previous recordholder, an account called @world_record_egg whose photograph of a single egg has received 57 million likes since a 2019! campaign to make it the most-liked post on the platform went viral
According to Social Blade, Messi has gained 25.8 million followers on his social media accounts in the past 30 days.
Messi became the second most-followed user on the platform after becoming the most-followed user on the platform.
During the tournament, Messi set a number of world records, according to Guinness.
Even though Messi has the most-liked post of all time, his rival on the pitch is still the most-followed user on the platform with over 500 million followers.
