Sources said that Musk is looking for a new CEO of the company.

Musk has said that his position as CEO would be temporary. Musk said in court in November that he would reduce his time at the micro-blogging site. He wrote on Sunday that there wasn't a replacement.

The question isn't finding a CEO, it's finding a CEO who can keep it going.

A majority of 17 million people voted for Musk to leave his post after the billionaire asked on Sunday if he should step down as head of the company. He said he would follow the results of the survey.

Straw polls are not the same as public opinion research. A fake account can register a response to a poll.

According to sources, Musk's search for a new CEO has been going on for a long time.

Musk's takeover has been rocky, as his leadership has resulted in massive staff cuts, a spike in racist hate speech, advertisers fleeing or slashing their spending on the platform, as well as the reinstating of previously banned accounts.

According to Musk, hate speech impressions have fallen since he took over, and that he has reached an all-time high in use of the social media platform.

Concerns have been raised about his other ventures.

This year, Musk has sold billions of dollars of shares in the company. He has enlisted the help of executives, engineers and attorneys from Musk's companies to assist him at the micro-blogging site.

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., wrote to the chair of the board of directors of the company, saying that she was concerned that the board may have violated legal obligations to the company's shareholders.

The lawmaker, who has sparred with Musk in the past over the idea of a wealth tax, asked the board to answer questions about the misappropriation ofTesla resources and conflicts of interest resulting from Musk's purchase ofTwitter.

The United States has definitely been harmed by having Warren as a senator.

According to NBC News, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson asked Shotwell if Musk's "distraction" at social media would affect the company's work with the agency.

Musk did not reply immediately.
