NASA's InSight landers has taken a picture of Mars that may be its last one.
"My power is really low, so this may be the last image I can send," the official InSight account wrote on Monday. My time here has been productive and peaceful. I will sign off here if I can keep talking to my team. Thank you for being with me.
There are scientific instruments on the surface of Mars.
At the time of writing, the account has been liked almost 275,000 times. A lonely little guy spending years working for others and trying their best before dying alone 140 million miles from home is one thing that will make a person feel better.

Scientists have been warning us about InSight's demise since May. The power level of the landers was just one tenth of what it had been at launch, due to the red dust on Mars. It's reasonable to think that InSight's power has fallen even further.
The mission to Mars was supposed to last two years. Sending back photographs and collecting data about Mars' interior for four years has been done by the Little Lander that could.
There have been problems with the landers explorations. InSight's drill was stuck for eight months in the middle of the year before it was finally freed in 2021. Like a senior citizen without a 401K, the InSight landers has kept working.
Insight's mission can be considered a success despite the issues with its drill. Over 1,300 Martian earthquakes were detected by the landers, they gathered information on weather conditions, and they helped to map the planet's interior.
After years of labor, InSight will break down. It's doable.
