From the minds that gave us 5G gin comes T-Mobile's latest publicity grab: a truck driving in circles around a building with a message on it.

T-Mobile is offering its 5G home internet service for $25 per month if you have a qualified voice line. It shows how important fixed wireless broadband is to T-Mobile, as it looks to take a bite out of the cable company's home internet business.

T-Mobile is interested in home internet due to the condition of its acquisition. The company promised the FCC that it would offer cheap wireless internet to half of the US population by the year 2025. In its last earnings release, T-Mobile cited home internet as a successful tool in attracting new customers and increasing revenue. It means making more money off of you.

T-Mobile is targeting a very easy target. The service runs on the network of another company. T-Mobile likes to point out that the company is consistently rated with a negative net promoter score. It's normal for most Americans to hate the cable company.

The company hopes to have 7 to 8 million subscribers by the year 2025. 5G home internet was promising but unreliable where we tried it out. A bad service won't be saved by a lot of billboard trucks.
