A jury in Los Angeles found Weinstein guilty of raping a woman.

The jury of eight men and four women reached a verdict after more than two weeks of deliberations at the second criminal trial of the 70 year old onetime powerful movie mogul, who is currently serving a 23 year sentence for a rape and sexual assault conviction in New York.

A jury found Weinstein guilty of rape, forced oral copulation, and other counts. The jury was not able to reach a decision on the charges against the wife of the governor.

The jury couldn't reach a verdict in the case of the other woman. There was a mis trial on those counts.

The jury voted 10-2 in favor of the conviction. They were in favor of a guilty verdict on the rape and sexual assault counts.

Another woman accused Weinstein of sexual battery.

He could face up to 24 years in prison. The verdict was not commented upon by prosecutors or defense attorneys.

Harvey Weinstein won't be able to rape someone else. He will spend the rest of his life in prison. Weinstein's lawyers used sexist, misogynist, and bully tactics throughout the trial. The trial reminded us that we have a lot to do.

The prosecution's closing argument stated that it was time for the defendant's reign of terror to come to an end. It's time for the kingmaker to be held accountable.

The case was dependent on the stories and credibility of the four women at the center of the charges.

One of the accusers is the husband of the governor. The most dramatic moments of the trial were her testimony about being raped by Weinstein.

A model and actor from Italy said that Weinstein raped her at a film festival.

Lauren Young, the only accuser who testified at both Weinstein trials, said she was a model aspiring to be an actor and screenwriter when Weinstein groped her and masturbated in front of her.

The jury was not able to reach a decision.

The massage therapist said Weinstein did the same thing to her after a massage.

The women entered Weinstein's hotel suites or let him into their rooms without knowing what was to come.

She wondered who would think that an entertainment industry titan would be a rapist.

The women's stories mirrored the allegations of dozens of others who have emerged since Weinstein became a #Metoo lightning rod. During the trial, jurors were warned not to watch the movie "She Said."

During the trial, the defense emphasized that none of the four women went to the authorities until after Weinstein was accused.

Two of the women were completely lying when they said they had sex with Weinstein, and the other two hadconsensual sex, according to defense lawyers.

Alan Jackson said in his closing argument that regret isn't the same as rape.

He told jurors to ignore the women's emotional testimony and focus on the facts.

Jackson said jurors were told to believe them because they were crying. It's not true that fury makes fact. tears don't make truth

The women were in court. The Associated Press doesn't usually name people who say they have been sexually abused unless they come forward publicly or agree to be named by their attorneys.

40 other witnesses were called by prosecutors in order to give context and corroboration to the stories. Four other women who were not part of the case testified that Weinstein raped or sexually abused them. They were brought to the stand in order to figure out what was going on.

The woman Weinstein was accused of raping twice would not testify at the trial. They refused to give an explanation. Those charges were dismissed by the judge.

In the wake of some legal setbacks, including the dismissal of Bill Cosby's conviction, Weinstein's latest conviction gives a victory to victims of sexual harassment. The rape trial of Danny Masterson ended in a mistrial because of a lack of evidence. Kevin Spacey won at a sexual battery civil trial.

The case will be heard by the state's highest court next year. He will not be freed even if the East Coast conviction is thrown out.
