A New York woman with a long rap sheet was arrested Monday for breaking into the New York City rental home of Robert De Niro, who was at home at the time.
Law enforcement sources told CNN that Robert De Niro was present at a property on the Upper East Side but did not interact with the suspect as he was on another floor.
The New York Police Department did not confirm that the home was that of Robert De Niro.
CNN reported that Aviles took Christmas presents and an iPad, while law enforcement officials told NBC New York that he was caught using an iPad at the house.
According to NBC New York, De Niro is expected to press charges after a man was arrested at his house.
Sources told CNN that she is one of the top five thieves in the precinct and has had over two dozen previous arrests.
