I don't believe in the idea that England had a great World Cup. I don't think we should be celebrating the fact that we got to the quarters.

The squad and the depth that we have could have been better. We took off the wrong players when we made the substitution.

You think France and Argentina could have won the World Cup? Argentina isn't out of this world. They won because of Lionel Messi.

The French team was one of the worst teams we've seen. I played them in 1998 and they had a number of players who could change the game.

If he's one of their top scorers, then compare it to this team.

They did not have N'Golo Kante. The X factor was given to them by KylianMbappe.

The big moments went our way when we played them in the quarter-Finals.

We are a nice football team but we don't have that killer instinct. We have a lot of young players and we have come close. We're just as good as the two teams that made the final.

We're not as strong defensively. The players were injured before the World Cup, so we did a good job defensively. In the long-term, we need to find a centre-back that will take us to the elite level like Harry Maguire did.

Any manager could do what Southgate has done

I think he has done a good job. We shouldn't think that there isn't someone else out there. Good managers will do an equally good job.

If you looked at the teams we've played, any young English manager worth their salt would have gotten England to the quarter-finals.

We had a lot of time to recuperate after the World Cup. They beat us in Croatia. They beat us at the World Cup.

We beat two decent sides in the last Euros, but neither of them made it out of their group in the World Cup.

If you were to look at the candidates right now, you would see Graham Potter and Eddie Howe. There is a man with a great history of playing for England who is at an English club. It didn't work out for Steven, but any of these could have done a better job.

We have a great chance of winning the Euros, so why give someone else the baton when we will get better and better? He thought that he needed to take the job quickly if he wanted to succeed.

Make the most of this chance again. We should expect more since we finished in the quarter-finals.

We're not far away. Good players are important to us. You have Jude Bellingham who you can build a team around, Harry Kane will be around in a couple of years, and I want to see Phil Foden in the middle.

Qatar was the best WC final I've ever seen

Jamie Redknapp says the World Cup final between Argentina and France is the best in living memory.

The World Cup final was an event to remember. You didn't know which way it was going to go with the two special football players going head to head.

It's one of the best ones I've seen. Imagine doing an analysis on that. Is it over the line? The man with the left foot and the right foot had a hat- trick.

Diego Maradona single-handedly took Argentina to the final of the 1986 World Cup, which they lost to Germany, but he contributed with the assist.

What's the best? It was everything you wanted from a football match.
