According to reports, the Packers made a move ahead of the game at Lambeau Field.

Sammy Watkins was released by theNFC North team. Waivers will be given to the product of the school.

Watkins was signed to a one-year deal by the Packers.

The most notable move was the trade of Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, but it also lost a free agent and a second-round pick. In the final four games of the season, he has scored eight total touchdown.

Watkins has not been much of a factor all year despite going on injured reserve in September with a hamstring injury.

In nine games, he has 13 catches for 206 yards and zero touchdown, and the only time he went over 47 yards was in the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears.

The lack of production comes after the 29-year-old posted career-low numbers across the board in 2021.

There was a time when Watkins was a dangerous offensive weapon. He had his best individual season as a member of the Buffalo Bills in 2015, when he caught 60 passes for 1,047 yards and nine touchdown.

He hasn't been able to duplicate those totals in subsequent stops on the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Ravens and Packers as the final push ahead of the playoffs approaches.
