Mark and Teresa were heartened by the support they received from the MIT track community and the Division of Student Life after their son broke his leg competing for the MIT indoor track team. Teresa said that they were embraced by the community. We were able to see how MIT cares for its students.

The head coaching position for men's and women's cross-country is going to be endowed thanks to a gift from Mark and Teresa. Teresa is the vice chair of the Parent Leadership Circle and is on the Corporation Development Committee. A scholarship is being considered by the couple. Teresa says that two-thirds ofMIT students are on some form of financial aid. The need is at that location.

Mark, a Silicon Valley attorney, saysMIT changes the world in so many ways. The first speech students hear is, 'Come and help us make the world better.' Half of the undergraduates and half of the student athletes in the nation's largest Division III program are women. She said that giving to MIT is an investment in the future. The payoff is no better.
