Brandon Thomas-Asante was a player in the second tier.

He was going to be thrown on for West Bromwich in the Championship to try and help them get a result at home. He scored an equalizing goal in the 7th minute of added time.

It was a very short time.

He told Sky Sports that he was happy to be here. Sometimes it works out that way.

Things had moved so fast. I scored my first goal on the Friday after I heard about the move.

Brandon Thomas-Asante opened his West Brom account on his debut in the 98th minute

The day before I went to see the stadium for the first time, I was doing interviews about how great it would be to score in front of the fans. It occurred the next day.

It was not an easy way to go about it. The manager knew he could throw me on at the start of the season, so it helped me be prepared.

I know a lot of players who have the ability, but haven't been given the chance to play. I know it happened for a reason and I want to make the most of it.

I was ready to make the jump for a while, but I didn't think it would be easy. I felt right at home when I made my first start.

I knew there was work to be done, but I had faith in myself. I've adapted well to the higher level, but there is still a lot of work to be done and there is still a long way to go.

The ball is moving quicker in the game. I was excited about the challenge of coming here. I had been prepared to test myself at this level. I'm giving myself time to improve. There is much more to come. I am just beginning.

Steve Bruce was replaced by Carlos Corberan after a poor start to the season for the Baggies.

Things are moving in the right direction. The five wins on the bounce have lifted them from the bottom of the table to five points off the play-offs.

Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship games between West Brom and Rotherham

The ex-Huddersfield boss' attention to detail has impressed the player the most.

Thomas-Asante says that he's excited about the calibre of managers at West Bromwich. I have admiration for Steve Bruce. He brought me through the door and I'm thankful for that.

There are exciting things happening now. The manager likes to play the game. He has a good understanding of his own players. He is so detailed in everything that it will bode well for the younger players who want to learn more about the game.

I have taken heed of what he is saying, with the intensity of running, different movements, linking up with team-mates and such. He has been able to do things that other people can't.

Corberan put the players through a rigorous training schedule during the mid-season break despite the fact that the team had already won three games.

The improvements have been visible in their two victories since.

Thomas-Asante says that the early mornings weren't always good. It had to be finished.

We'll do whatever it takes to move in the right direction since we weren't happy with our position when he arrived.

It was very competitive. There were a lot of meetings, double sessions, theory, practice and learning how to get promoted. The work we did is starting to produce fruit.

He has a plan and he brings it to us in bitesize pieces. One day it is more defensive and the next it is more attacking.

The way we go about it is methodical and no one is under the impression that anything other than promotion is what's on everyone's mind.

We can be a really formidable force in the league with the group we have.

Thomas-Asante describes his strike against the Potters as the best of his career so far, but he wants to become a great goal scorer.

He wants to increase the quantity of his goals as well as the quality after winning the award. If I were the top scorer in the league, I would be happy.

He could help the club get to where they want to be by adding more goals to his game.

He says that they don't want to be in the Championship and want to be in the premier league. We've taken steps in the right direction, but there's more to be done.

I want to be the best I can be, and this is a great place to start. I need to keep working hard because I have a lot of faith in myself.

I have a lot to do in my career and I am willing to do what it takes to get there.

You get the sense from speaking to Thomas-Asante that he is driven to get where he wants to go.
