An artificial intelligence model is being developed that can decipher difficult-to-read handwriting with a focus on notes and prescriptions. During its annual conference in India on Monday, the search giant announced that it was collaborating with a pharmacy to create a tool that can decode medical notes.
During the event, the feature was shown to be able to detect medicines in a handwritten prescription. Much work still remains to be done before this system is ready for the real world, so there is no detail on when the new text decipher feature will launch.
The tool can be used to detect objects and translate languages. We tested the feature on handwritten notes and found that it was dependent on how legible the handwriting was. Doctors with bad handwriting are known to be hared.
