Users will be able to access verified government-issued documents from the Files app, thanks to the addition of India's online document storage service,DigiLocker.

The partnership was announced at the annual Google for India conference on Monday. A machine learning-based model was announced by the search giant.

While announcing the partnership with Google, Abhishek Singh said, "We expect thatDigiLocker's integration and partnership onAndroid will drive smoother and ubiquitous access to digitized documents in a safe and secure way for all our users." Singh is the President and CEO of NeGD and also the CEO of DIC.

According to Singh, there are over 137 million registered users. Over 2,300 issuers have issued more than 5 billion documents to date.

The user base ofDigiLocker was 100 million in March. The documents issued by the government are stored in the system.

When the integration will be made available to users wasn't disclosed. At some point in the future, the experience will be available to Apple's mobile device operating system.

At the eighth edition of the annual conference, there was an announcement of updates related to search and an offer for an artificial intelligence service that will help users decode handwriting of doctors. More monetization areas for creators of educational content can be found on the new Courses feature on the video sharing site.
