For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys are going to the playoffs.

Thanks to the Washington Commanders' loss to the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys are in the playoffs.

The Cowboys have not been to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons since the 2006 and 2007 campaigns. The amount of talent on the roster this year would have been a huge disappointment if the team hadn't made the playoffs.

Few teams can match the star power and name recognition of a roster that includes a number of players.

T.Y.Hilton was signed by Dallas after it was connected to Odell Beckham Jr.

Even with all that talent, the season appeared to be in jeopardy when the quarterback injured his thumb in the first game of the year. He suffered an ankle injury in 2020 and the team went 4-7 without him.

Cooper Rush started in place of the two-time Pro Bowler and went 4-2 as a starter.

After that, the Cowboys went on to win their next six games, including a Week 7 victory over the Detroit Lions.

It will look for its first deep postseason run in more than two decades now that Dallas has secured its spot and looks like one of the top challengers in the field.

The last time the Cowboys made it past the second round was in 1995 when they won the Super Bowl with Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith.

After losing in the wild-card round last season, they will need to establish some playoff success if they are going to be remembered like some of the great Cowboys.

After securing a spot in the playoffs, they will be able to do that.
