Paul Graham, a well-known venture capitalist who has been supportive of Musk, had his account taken away.
Graham was suspended after he wrote: "This is the final straw." I can't keep going. There is a link to my new profile on my website.
He linked to the new policy on banning users from linking out to competing social media platforms.
It's against the policy to write "instagram dot com/username" to avoid creating an actual link.
The account was suspended because Graham wrote, "You can find a link to my new Mastodon profile on my website." That could be seen as an example of a way to fix it.
Graham's account was not suspended after we reached out to the company.
Gergely Orosz commented on the suspension on his own account, suggesting that people can find his Mastodon. He was banned soon after. I can't believe it...
Howard Lerman, a co- founder of several tech startups, expressed surprise, saying that Paul Graham defines every attribute one could hope for on a social network. I think I missed a lot of things.
Graham wrote on Mastodon that he hadn't left Twitter, despite being widely considered an alternative to the micro-messaging service. I don't want to use it while it's banning links to other websites. It was a good time to learn more about Mastodon.
I hope he succeeds with the social networking site. Why wouldn't you want failure on anyone? Not allowing people to post links to their other accounts was too much for me.
The suspension was commented upon by others. The founder and general partner of 776 said that Graham was Silicon Valley royalty. He was suspended for giving a link to his mastadon. This is going to be fascinating. Pg is a royalty.
