The lights were on in Lusail Stadium.

Messi is the champion of the world after a nail-biting penalty shoot out.

The ultimate football trophy has finally been collected by theMessi-ah. He's going to put that prize in a crowded cabinet with his other awards. He has won 35 trophies with Barcelona, 2 with Paris Saint-Germain and 3 with Argentina.

The Jules Rimet trophy is the most sought after crown of them all.

The debate should be over as soon as Messi lifts it. As long as he has been playing, no other footballer has been able to achieve what he has. There is a piece missing from his cabinet.

Messi is the greatest player in the world. It is possible that we will never find one like him again.

This is a breakdown of everything that happened during the World Cup Final.

The first half from Argentina was very good.

In the first half, Argentina looked like it was going to win.

He made plays no other player has the ability to make. He was supported by stalwarts and young talent.

ngel Di Mara was formidable on the left wing. Di Mara made Jules look out of depth by tying his opponent in knots. The foul that led to Argentina's first goal was caused by Di Mara drawing the penalty. He put the second one away after the Argentines came back.

🔥 Put this goal in a museum. Brilliant passing and movement.

Lovely flick from Lionel Messi. Love the way Angel di Maria hit the ball into the floor on the finish. #ARG 2-0 #FRA pic.twitter.com/nSKXweMq3n

After the first 45 minutes, the French were fortunate to only be down 2-0. The French side looked bewildered by a storm that hit them hard as Messi was at the center.

The script is being flipped byMbappé.

It was going to be a sure thing that Messi and the Albiceleste would be crowned the best team in the world.

It turned in the second half. Seemingly out of nowhere in the 80th minute, Nicols Otamendi gave a penalty to France, after he was shown a yellow card. Kylian Mbappé sent the penalty home in the second half to shift the pace of the game.

The ball was thrown to the net byMbappé. He put the ball into the net a second time.

In the future, we might talk about the same thing as Messi. His goal for his second of the night in the World Cup final will be seen as proof of his greatness.

The French were largely uninspired throughout the final. The World Cup was going to go on for a while. 30 minutes would be dramatic.

They traded goals in extra time.

Both Messi and Mbappé were at their best. In the extra period, Messi was unstoppable. Messi was still cooking when Mbappé came out of his sleep.

Messi hit the ball.

Messi got the ball from Lautaro Martnez. Messi tapped it to Fernndez, who sent it to Martnez. Messi was waiting in front of the net when he got his seventh goal of the World Cup.

France received a reply ten minutes later. The penalty was brought on by an ill- timed handball. In the 118th minute of the extra time, he came back to the place. There was a hat trick and the Golden Boot.

Both teams were waiting for the lottery to start.

The two players didn't miss their penalties. They couldn't control it anymore.

They will be remembered for their World Cup match. He established himself as the best player in the world even though he didn't win the game.

Messi's teammates refused to be deterred.

Is Argentina's penalty hero again?

It has been a long journey for the man. The 30-year-old goalkeeper has come to prominence due to his ability to stop penalties and his bold character.

Many of Messi's teammates helped him get to the final prize.

With the pressure on, he did a great job, stopping a Coman penalty and overseeing the miss of another in the penalty shoot out that Argentina won.

Young stars like Fernndez and Julin lvarez were Argentina's heroes. No other player is as deserving of credit as Martnez.

Messi's legacy is secured.

We can put things to rest after Montiel's final penalty went into the net.

Argentina became the first side outside Europe to win the men's World Cup since 2002, and that is one of the reasons for the long streak.

There is a long debate about the legacies of Messi andRonaldo. He left this tournament shrouded in controversy and without a trophy. It is almost certain thatRonaldo will never win the World Cup. Messi's crowning achievement was the World Cup in 2022.

Next in line to inherit the world of football from those two giants is Mbappé.

The GOAT is a past legend. Diego Maradona's 1986 World Cup win with Argentina was the measuring stick that Messi was judged on. Pel dominated his time.

For a long time and on many stages of the game, no one has achieved that.

At every level, Messi has won at least one thing. The quiet magician stands above them all.

Now a World Cup champion, with seven goals this tournament, an incredible final performance and some of his best-ever play, maybe we can finally agree that Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of all time.
