Following Argentina's victory over France in the World Cup final on Sunday, Lionel Messi has no intentions of retiring from the national team.

I'm not going to stop playing for the national team. Messi told TyC Sports that he would like to keep playing for Argentina.

He won the Golden Ball as the best player of the World Cup after scoring seven goals and assisting three others. He is the first player in history to win the Golden Ball two times.

Messi made his debut for Argentina's senior national team in 2005. In addition to winning the World Cup, Messi has also helped Argentina win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, as well as the 2021.

He could lead Argentina at the World Cup when he's 39, even though it was thought that the World Cup would be his last.

Even if he isn't the same player, Messi will return to the World Cup in four years.
