Elon Musk's Twitter blocks links to Mastodon, Instagram, and other social platforms

Free promotion on the platform will not be allowed, which means posting the handle of an account on another social media site. There was a new policy announced on the platform.

Many of our users are active on other platforms. We will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on the platform. We will remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for those platforms.

It is assumed that users can still link their accounts to other social sites even though they weren't listed byTwitter.

You can't promote the other people. It seems that a user can't post the handle of an account on one of those sites because of the limits of the policy. You can't say you're following me on IG.

cross-posting content from any social media platform is allowed, according to the support account. Links to social media platforms that are not listed above are not in violation of this policy.

When linking out to those sites, you will not be allowed at both the account level and the account level. It was made clear that linktr.ee and lnk.bio would not be allowed.

Even if you don't link out but still direct users to other social media accounts, you won't be able to post a usernames anymore.

Attempts to circumvent restrictions on external links to social media platforms through technical or non-technical means is in violation of this policy. "This includes, but is not limited to, spelling out 'dot' for social media platforms that use '.' in the names to avoid URL creation, or sharing screenshot of your handle on a banned social media platform."

Musk claims to be a free speech absolutist. According to a report, it won't allow users to acknowledge their existence because it's so worried about losing users.

The punishment is very strong.

We can take a number of actions, ranging from requiring deletion of one or more Tweets to temporarily locking account(s) Subsequent offenses will result in permanent suspension. You need to post these accounts in your bio as well.

There have been strange things said on the social networking site. Musk suspended a bunch of journalists who covered him. He has banned posting on other social sites.
