There is enough evidence to charge Donald Trump with trying to subvert the 2020 election, according to Rep. Adam Schiff.
According to reports, the House January 6 Committee is expected to recommend three criminal charges for Trump to the Justice Department.
I think there's enough evidence to charge the president, because I think he committed criminal offenses in connection with his efforts to overturn the election, and I think he was a former prosecutor," he said.
I'm not sure what the justice department has. I am aware of what is in the public record. The California Democrat said that the evidence seemed plain to him.
The final report from the January 6 committee is expected to be published next week and will urge the Justice Department to charge Trump with insurrection, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to defraud the US government.
This person tried to force state officials to find votes that weren't there. If that is not a crime, I don't know what to think.

The congressman said the committee would vote on which referrals to make to the DOJ.
You have to be prosecuted for breaking the law if you think the president has violated multiple criminal laws. If you can show that someone inciting an insurrection gave aid and comfort to those who did so, that's a violation of the law. It's a pretty good match if you compare Donald Trump's acts to the statute.
He said that the statute hasn't been used in a long time but that when a president encourages an attack on his own government, it's time to use it.
