Nine people in Australia suffered "toxic reactions", including hallucinating, from a bunch of spinach thought to be contaminated with an "accidental contaminant".
According to New South Wales Health, people from four different households needed medical attention due to possible food related toxic reactions.
Initial investigations show that the reactions were caused by an accidental contaminant in the food.
The health authority warned of "severe" possible symptoms associated with consuming the spinach, such as delirium or confusion, hallucinations, rapid heartbeat, and blurry vision.
People who have baby spinach that has an expired date should throw it out, according to officials.
Some patients are still sick more than a day after the start of symptoms, according to the medical director of the Poisons Information Centre in New South Wales.
He said that the patients that have been unwell have been to the point of marked hallucinations. They cannot recount what happened.
We're very happy that no one has died, and we hope it stays that way, but these people are sick.
