The biggest comeback in NFL history took place on Saturday when the Vikings came back to win the division.

The Vikings, who had missed the playoffs in three of the past four years, overcame a 33 point halftime deficit to defeat the Colts.

The previous record of 32 was set by the Buffalo Bills in 1992. Kevin O'Connell has led the team to 11 victories in his first 14 games.

The Vikings' victory eliminated the Detroit Lions from contention for the division title. After winning their first division title in five years, the Vikings hold a one-game lead over the 49ers for the second seed in the playoffs.

At other sportsbooks, the Vikings' odds to win the game grew to as high as 30-1 at one point. The Vikings were 90-1 to win the game at Pointsbet. The largest wager was $5 and it was taken on the Vikings at 90-1 odds.

The Vikings parted ways with their former coach and general manager after the 2020 season. O'Connell was hired by the Wilf's to be the new coach.

The Vikings' new leadership decided against blowing up a veteran roster that had lost eight games in a row. Instead, Adofo- Mensah started a "competitive rebuild," hoping to squeeze as many wins from the existing core as possible before turning over key positions with younger players.

O'Connell made the offense around Jefferson better. KirkCousins has had the worst statistical season of his five in Minnesota, but he has led seven fourth-quarter comebacks, including Saturday, and has thanked O'Connell repeatedly.

A number of returning veterans have powered this season's surge, including eight who are at least 30 years old, including quarterback Kirk Cousins.
