A Tennessee man who was previously charged in connection with the Capitol riot is now facing conspiracy and other charges after allegedly obtaining a list of law enforcement personnel who played a role in his criminal investigation.

According to the criminal complaint, Edward Kelley obtained the names of law enforcement personnel involved in the investigation that led to his initial arrest, and discussed plans to kill them. Austin Carter is accused of being a co-conspirator.

They were accused of conspiracy, retaliating against a federal official, interstate communication of a threat, and solicitation to commit a crime of violence.

The two people made their first appearance in federal court.

Kelley was charged in the District of Columbia with assault on a law enforcement officer after he was arrested in Tennessee for allegedly attacking a law enforcement officer. He was held on a personal recognizance bond.

The FBI opened an investigation and assigned agents to Kelley's case after receiving information about his possible involvement at the Capitol.

A witness gave authorities a printed document with 37 names, positions and phone numbers of law enforcement personnel involved in the criminal investigation, according to the filing. According to the filing, the list identified which officers were present at the time of Kelley's arrest.

The witness told investigators that Kelley talked about collecting intel on law enforcement involved in the case and shared plans to kill personnel on the list.

Carter and Kelley have been taken into custody. Carter is going to be in jail on Wednesday.

Marina Medvin did not reply to a request for comment. Medvin wants to withdraw as Kelley'sattorney.

A total of 850 defendants were arrested on January 6th.
