The upcoming series was created by 1917's Sam Mendes and Avenue 5's Armando Iannucci, and with Succession writer Jon Brown as showrunner, the series recently landed a pair of recurring guest stars. Grant played the older evil Loki in last year's film, as well as X-Men villain Xander Rice and Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. The upcoming movie based on the team that his comics incarnation usually headlines isn't confirmed at the moment. The two will hopefully be able to stretch their comedy chops.
Five series regulars were picked up by the show, including Billy Magnussen and Jessica Hynes. The cast's characters, beyond their names, were not given any additional information.
It isn't like The Franchise will lack in material for its comedy with how superheroes have become the defining moment in pop culture for the last 10 or 20 years. Hopefully The Franchise doesn't become a one-and-done when it eventually arrives on the network, as the track record with comedies is generally strong.
