We went to Mexico in October. The Hyatt Place Los Cabos is a World of Hyatt category 1 hotel located in San Jose del Cabo and The Cape is a World of Hyatt category 6 hotel located in Cabo San Lucas. We had good experiences at each location, but they were not the same. It's like comparing apples and oranges when you compare the hotels.
I had heard so many good things about the Cape. I was excited, but worried that I would be disappointed.
The Cape is a great boutique resort hotel.
I will tell you the negatives before I tell you the positives. There isn't a beach to talk of. You might want to go somewhere else if you want to swim in pristine waters or run on the sand. This may be the place for you if you like swimming or surfing. If you like a hotel that is close to other places, this isn't for you. They are plentiful and cheap. I did not experience loud partying types of guests at the hotel, but I have read that it is possible.
The Cape lived up to it's reputation as a beautiful resort hotel staffed by caring employees who consistently go out of their way to make the guest experience great.
The majority of the hotel is outdoors. There is a lot of seating on the first floor.
There is a view from the ground floor.
Points were used to book our stay. Cash price of the rooms and suites can approach $1,000 per night, so this was a great value.
The Thompson Suite was located on the third floor. It had everything we were looking for. A video and some photos are included.
The rooms at the Cape have balconies. We didn't have plunge pools.
The view from our balcony was amazing. We were able to see the hotel pool, the surfers in the morning, and the notorious El Arco, which was located in the suite. There were fireworks on some nights.
On a Saturday, we arrived. The hotel sponsors a great event on Sundays. We were able to sample a lot of delicious foods, but we couldn't eat everything.
We ate breakfast outside after we went to the hotel gym first. The food at the restaurant was good. Breakfast was great and delicious. Breakfast is free for WOH Globalists. It could be on the expensive side. Globalists can get a reduced price on the Sunday brunch.
There was a great view from the restaurant.
pastries and fresh fruit
There is a lobster stew.
Short Rib Fried Eggs Mole Negro
The toast is from the Cape.
Avocado Toast
A cup cake and singing by the waitstaff for my birthday.
We did not have the chance to eat at the restaurant at the hotel.
There are two pools at the hotel. We were able to find the lounge chairs we were looking for. We didn't order anything from the pool bar, Point Break, but people were happy with their orders.
The bar and lounge is located on the roof of the hotel. We didn't have time to explore it because there were private events on the roof. For a fee, there are fitness and wellbeing classes on the rooftop.
The hotel has a gym on the ground floor. It is well-equipped and has a lot of things. I liked that I could see the ocean while I worked out.
I loved the Cape so much that I can't say more.
