A woman fell off a luxury ship and died. There was a fight among passengers waiting to disembark. The woman's death is being investigated, as passengers who participated in the fight were arrested. A woman died when she fell off of a cruise ship. The passengers on the ship got into a fight while waiting to disembark. The crew members of the Meraviglia ship were called in to break up the fight after passengers became frustrated. The fight broke out after the woman fell into the ocean. A helicopter and boat were used in a search and rescue operation. Two and a half hours later, the body of the woman was recovered. The passenger sustained fatal injuries despite the rescue operation and will be investigated by the sheriff's office. A video obtained by Daily Mail shows a fight breaking out when the passengers were stopped from disembarking the ship. A number of passengers were arrested by US Customs and Border Protection.
The passengers were not allowed off the ship until after noon according to one passenger.
The Italian cruise line told passengers that their arrival in Florida would be delayed due to the woman falling over.
A woman's body was recovered from the water 18 miles offshore after she went over the side of the ship. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
Requests for comment from outside of normal working hours were not immediately responded to.
