The man being investigated for his role in the January 6 riots was accused of planning to kill the law enforcement officers who investigated his case.

The complaint states that Edward Kelley obtained a list of law enforcement officials and discussed plans to kill them with Austin Carter and a witness.

Kelley, who was one of the first people to enter the Capitol grounds on January 6, was previously charged with assault, resisting, or obstructing officers, civil disorder, destruction of government property, and seven other charges.

According to the complaint, a witness who was interviewed by the FBI said Kelley handed Carter an envelope with a document of the names, titles, and phone numbers of 37 law enforcement officials who investigated him and were present at arrest or home search of Kelley on May 5, 2022.

On December 3, the witness met with Kelley and Carter at a park in Tennessee to discuss plans with both of them.

According to the witness, Kelley stated that they will mainly conduct recon missions and assassination missions, with one of them being an attack on Federal agents. The witness said they would do more long-distance things and that they owned firearms.

Kelley asked them to reach out to their cop buddies and see what information they could gather on the individuals on the list, according to a witness.

After the witness gave the letter to law enforcement, they began recording calls between Kelley and Carter, who were talking about attacking people at the FBI field office in Tennessee.
