Since Musk took over, the financials of the company have been hurt. Musk has sold more than 20 billion of his shares in the company since he announced his plans to buy the social networking site. He has not explicitly said that all of those sales happened so he could finance the way-too- expensive deal, but that is what most people think.

The premier name in electric vehicles has acted as a funding mechanism for Musk to buy a website and ban journalists who report negatively on him.
