At least two people were injured when a giant aquarium exploded in the lobby of a luxury hotel in Berlin.
Most of the fish in the AquaDom aquarium have sadly passed away, as reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Some of the surviving fish were carried out of the hotel in buckets of water.
The tank explosion caused extensive damage to the hotel, as well as shattering the glass front doors and spilling out onto the street. Two people were hurt by glass from the tank.
The AquaDom tank explosion wasn't the only animal disaster in Europe this week.
The zoo in Furuvik, Sweden shot and killed three out of four Chimpanzees because there wasn't enough tranquilizers for them all.
The loss of the Chimpanzees, one of which was still a baby, was mourned by animal lovers like the death of the gorilla Harambe.
There is an instinct to take a side between the protection of human life and the loss of animal life when there is an animal tragedy. Despite being tragic incidents, they were not any worse and it's worth resisting that knee- jerk.
