Report: Sasha Banks Eyed Contract Comparable to Becky Lynch, Charlotte; WWE Declined

According to reports, the company refused to make her one of the highest-paid female Superstars, which led to her leaving.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Banks wanted to make the same amount of money as Charlotte andBecky Lynch, but people with knowledge of the situation said that wasn't the case.

Sources told Meltzer that Banks is not viewed internally as "somebody who would be on top for the next five years" but as a wrestler who has already "peaked as a star."

In May, Banks and Naomi walked out of Raw due to unhappiness over how they were being booked. They were stripped of the Women's Tag Team Championships by the company.

Banks is expected to make an appearance at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 17 event in January, but neither of them has wrestled in a while.

Ian Carey of F4WOnline reported that Banks negotiated the Wrestle Kingdom appearance and other appearances with NJPW.

Banks was released from her contract with the company over the summer, but she won't be involved in wrestling until at least the beginning of the next decade.

After Vince McMahon retired in July, the two companies had contract talks, but they were far apart on money.

It is understandable that Banks wanted to be paid the same as Lynch and Flair as she played a huge role in the advancement of women's wrestling in the company.

The Four Horsewomen were known as the Four Horsewomen and changed the perception of women's wrestling in the company.

Two years after Charlotte and Lynch were part of the first-ever women's main event at WrestleMania 35, Banks and Bianca Belair were part of the first night of the show.

Banks was a five-time Raw women's champion, three-time WWE women's tag team champion, one-time Raw women's champion and one-timeNXT women's champion.

On top of that, Banks has a huge social media presence and a fan base that is very loyal.

Her importance to the growth of women's wrestling and how popular she is, as well as her reported decision to not be paid a top rate, could cause the company to regret its decision.
