An EU official warned early Friday that the EU could ban the accounts of journalists who report on Musk's company from being on the platform.
Vra Jourov, the EU Commission's vice-president for values and transparency, said she was worried that Musk had banned journalists because of the platform rule.

It would make social media companies more accountable for the content they post.
She said that the Media Freedom Act was adopted by the EU.
There are "red lines" and "sanctions" that Musk should be aware of according to Jourov.
Penalties for violating the Digital Services Act could result in fines as much as 6% of a platform's global annual revenue, which could mean billions, and a ban across the European bloc.
Forbes asked for comment on the matter, but did not get a reply.
