Sale are fourth in the Premier 15s table but will not be included in the league next season

The women's premier 15s is set to get a side in the men's premier 15s in the near future.

The next cycle of the competition will begin in the year 24.

The RFU says the league has enough capacity for 10 sides.

The most northern team at the moment is Loughborough, with the other two teams left out.

The clubs can appeal against the decision.

The men's Championship leaders will be joined in the league by existing premier 15s clubs, which include Northampton Saints, Bristol, Gloucester-Hartpury, and Quins.

The eight clubs' inclusion is dependent on the signing of shareholder and other agreements, according to the RFU.

The panel made a strong recommendation to explore how more geographical spread can be provided.

The RFU is trying to find a solution for clubs that applied but weren't offered a place in the league.

What have the excluded teams said?

The four teams that weren't in the league made statements.

"We hope to return to the league at the earliest possible moment, and will move from London to be more closely aligned with the men's side," the club said in a statement.

One of the final league positions will be secured with the help of the RFU.

The increased level of investment required to be included from the next campaign did not allow the DMP Sharks to be included.

The club's application to stay in the premier 15s league was rejected today.

Despite the stated desire to ensure a greater geographical spread of teams, the premier 15s won't have any northern representation.

The director of women's rugby at Ealing said she was "delighted" at the club's inclusion, while the head of women's rugby atLeicester said it was a big day.
