The new Hero 11 Black and the new Hero 11 Mini were both announced by the company. It was slightly delayed, but it is now shipping. Buying a GoPro is more complicated now that it's existed.

The Hero 11 Mini is a compromise to save weight and size. These compromises will be worth the savings in weight, size, and price for the right user. The Hero 11 Black is still available for most of us.

The camera Shrinkage.

The Hero 11 Black is larger than the Hero 11 Mini. It doesn't sound like much, but for situations where wind resistance and drag are factors, it's a big deal.

The Mini is roughly the same size as the Hero 11. The width is 20mm less than the full size camera. All of the screens on the Mini were taken away. The Mini will be more rugged as a result of this. The screens on the Hero 11 Black are the most vulnerable, and most of the destroyed ones have cracked screens. The Mini makes it impossible for this to happen. You can see the current shooting mode on the top of the camera, but you have to use the app to get into settings.

There is a photo of the device, called the GoPro.

Until the Mini arrived, I didn't really use the app to set up my camera. When I strapped the Hero 11 to the front of my surfboard, I still used the rear screen to set up the rest of my equipment.

The app works well, the transition from screen to app is easy, and the app is mostly the same as the screen interface. I thought the Mini didn't support Timelapse mode because it wasn't on the menu. There are three shooting modes in the interface for the black. There is only one button for video in the mini interface. Timelapse is one of the special modes you can find when you change your video settings.

What it means is that you can't save preset in the main menu like you can in the black. It's hard to switch video modes. You have to pull out the app or use the camera, which is a tedious process, or you have to do it on the camera, which is even more tedious. If you change shooting modes frequently, the Mini is not for you. This seems to be a flaw that could be fixed by a software update.
