Pakistan v England: Rehan Ahmed to become youngest man to play for England

Rehan will be the youngest man to play a Test for England when he makes his debut against Pakistan.

Brian Close's record has stood since 1949.

James Anderson and Will Jacks have been replaced by Ben Foakes and Ahmed in the team.

The series was won by England and they are looking for a whitewash.

England have only earned three previous clean sweeps in away Test series of three matches or more, but they have never beaten Pakistan in their country.

The Test will begin on Saturday at 18 years and 126 days old. The last time Close played against New Zealand he was 18 years old.

"I've been keeping an eye on him, without letting him know I've been watching him closely," Ben said.

It's a good chance for Rehan to express himself. There isn't a lot of pressure to perform.

You can't make it again after making your debut. It would be great if we could make him feel like he's had a lot of time on his hands.

Even though he left training early on Friday, he was named in the England side.

Holly Colvin was 15 years and 335 days old when she played for the women's team against Australia in 2005.

The man has only played in three first-class matches, and has an average of 30 strikeouts per game. He was part of the England team that reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup this year, as well as playing for the England Lions against South Africans in the home summer.

He was added to the full England squad for a warm-up game in Abu Dhabi in November, after being named in the England Lions squad.

The tourists' XI will have a second frontline spin-bowling option when they travel to Pakistan.

He considers himself to be a batter and made a century in his last first class match.

It's difficult to say what his biggest strength is. He likes to show off with his bat. I'm looking forward to seeing what he has with the ball.

Foakes missed the first Test due to illness and was left out of the second.

Jacks made his debut as a late replacement for Foakes in the first Test, but only took eight overs in the second Test.

The decision to remove Anderson was made to protect the 40-year-old with a home series against Australia.

It was the right decision to let Jimmy take a break.
