I love Barbara Streisand lol
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 16, 2022
Barbra Streisand tried to suppress photographs of her home by suing the photographer. Many people were interested in the photos of the lawsuit. They were seen by more people than they would have been if the suit had not been filed. Streisand Effect occurs when suppression of information leads to publicizing the information more widely.
The Streisand Effect shows how hard it is to control the spread of information once it is released and how important the internet is in this regard.
