The top player in the recruiting class is going to Texas.
After decommitting from Texas A&M in November, Anthony Hill chose the Longhorns on Thursday.
Hill is a 5-star prospect and the No. 19 overall player in the state of Texas.
Texas A&M didn't make a bowl game this season despite landing the top-rated recruiting class, and it's dealing with transfer portal issues.
The transfer portal has been used by 22 Texas A&M players. Watching a top-notch linebacker from within the state who was once committed to the program joining the Longhorns won't stop the negative vibes.
Texas has found a lot of success on the recruiting trail this year, as a result of A&M's loss.
The Longhorns are third in the country behind Alabama and Georgia. The program is attempting to rediscover its place as a college football powerhouse ahead of a move to the SEC, and recruiting is the fastest way to do that.
One of the stars of the class is Hill.
He is one of the most dynamic defensive prospects in the country. "Not a 'tweener as much as a situation and scheme-versatile chess piece who should be able to stay on the field in all scenarios."
It will work for Texas as it builds a roster that can compete in the SEC.
