Twitter is blocking links to Mastodon

One of the most notable alternatives to the micro-messaging service is Mastodon. After journalists and Mastodon's own account were unexpectedly suspended on the platform, the ban was put in place.

Attempting to post Mastodon links will result in an error message that says, "We can't complete this request because this link is potentially harmful." Links to the original mastodon.social server and more than a dozen other websites have been blocked by the social network.

The account that tracks the location of Musk's private jet has been banned. The personal account of the person who manages the ElonJet account was suspended by the social media company. People can't share live locations of another person on the micro-blogging site.

We don't know why Mastodon's account was suspended, but it happened after the account posted a link to a page on Mastodon.

It didn't respond to a request for comment after it dissolved its press office. Mastodon didn't respond to a request for comment.
