The internet was a laughing stock after it was announced that Donald Trump is going into the digital trading card business.

The USA TODAY Opinion team had some thoughts on this.

Digital trading cards for people who love losers and losing!

Do you ever want to watch a fire burn?

You are in good hands. Donald Trump, a leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, made a statement on Thursday that he called a "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT".

The cards all have a smaller version of Trump, with the exception of his hands. One has a man who was the president of the United States of America who had a laser in his eyes. There is a picture of him wearing a cowboy hat. One that should have a warning shows him winking.

Liberals have used the "Dark Brandon" meme to joke about President Joe Biden's success. The meme was not created by Biden's team and they didn't try to make money from it.

Having already declared his candidacy for president, Trump's announcement had supporters and critics wondering. When we learned it was just the announcement of Trump's latest money-making tactic, the reaction was a bit sad and a lot of laughing.

Republicans need their own version of Biden.

This is what it comes to? A twice-impeached former president who incited an attack on our nation's Capitol and refused to participate in the peaceful transfer of power has been reduced to hyping himself. I would like that to stand for No further Trumps.

If you think about the thousands of Trump loyalists who will buy up these soon-to-be worthless digital thingies for Christmas gifts, giving more of their hard-earned money to a man who thinks he's worthy of being on overpriced, it's hilarious.

Trump takes a bad week and makes himself a superhero

If most of us had a month like the one Donald Trump had, we might consider hiding.

That's not Trump. He turned himself into a superhero after taking some lackluster events.

The release of some "must-have" digital trading cards that depict the former president as a cowboy and an astronomer was one of the major announcements made by Trump.

These cards are not cheap at 99 cents. You have a better chance of winning other prizes if you buy more.

It's funny, but this all seems desperate to me. Trump is behind in raising money and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is doing well with some of the big donors who used to support him.

A number of polls this week show Trump lagging in support, with two-thirds of GOP and GOP-leaning voters lining up behind his opponent.

TheInclusive restaurant turned away a group of Christians because of their beliefs.

On Nov. 15, 2022, Donald Trump announces his third attempt to become president of the United States at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla.

In the recent elections, Trump's anointed candidates did a poor job. It is time for Trump to leave, even if it is for a short time.

Trump must be insane because of this news. It doesn't seem like the American people are buying it even though he wants to be the superhero

How about giving your money to me instead of Trump?

$100 for top-notch digital images of a person you admire and wish would take control of things is a lot of money.

I am that person. For $100 you can become the proud owner of two self-portraits I created with the help of a random program that took my selfies. This is a sample of the quality you can expect.

That is correct. I'm giving you two for the price of one because in this economy, people would spend a lot of money on a poor attempt to make a computer program.

It's time to stop using social media by billionaires.

What is the difference? You can send $100 to a person whose job is to pretend to care about our democracy and do things that could help it.

You can send $100 to a person who wants to cause a riot in order to overturn an election.

It was a tough call.
