The FMRF protested to the world governing body about the refereeing during the World Cup semi-finals.

The FMRF is upset that Mexican referee Cesar Ramos did not award a penalty to the North Africans in the first half when TheoHernandez made contact withSofiane Boufal.

Several neutrals felt that a spot-kick should have been awarded, but Ramos booked Boufal for a foul.

"The FMRF has written to the relevant body to review the refereeing decisions that deprived the Moroccan team of two penalties that were indisputable in the view of several refereeing specialists," the Moroccan ruling body said in a statement.

The FMRF was surprised that the video assistant referee didn't respond to the situations.

Some people working as pundits were perplexed by the lack of VAR.

"It looked like a penalty to Morocco for me - the VAR wasn't working, so I didn't think it was a penalty," Chris said.
